Through a reduced-rate institutional license, participating schools can give students access to thousands of food ideas, culinary references, pairing concepts, techniques, recipes, ratios, and specialized resources without requiring each student to purchase an individual subscription.

How it works

1. Review partnership levels above.

2. Request a proposal through the query form.

4. Receive and pay one institutional invoice. Invoice example.

5. Receive your license certificate. License certificate example.

6. Submit authorized student information via .csv file (CSV file upload instructions)

7. Students receive their own individual accounts immediately.(Automatic password set-up)

8. Students begin using the Index.

The program can serve as a meaningful supplement to classroom instruction while encouraging students to research, experiment, develop ideas, and deepen their understanding of food beyond the traditional curriculum. Partnering institutions may also receive recognition as official Musgrove Food Index Educational Partners, providing a distinctive benefit that can enhance their student offerings and help distinguish their culinary program.

What Happens When Your Students Leave

Continuous Student Access & Enrollment-Based Partnership Plan 

​

Under the Educational Partnership License, student access to the Musgrove Food Index remains active for the duration of the institution’s partnership. The institution is not required to purchase an ongoing subscription for students who graduate or leave on their own accord. Only new students will be considered in the calculation.

 

Calculation Example:

First Invoice-100 students X $20 for three months = $2,000. After 3 months, the institution loses 10 students but gains only 5 back. The second invoice-95 students X $20 for three months = $1,900. However, The Musgrove Food Index would continue subscriptions for 105 students, as long as their former institution remains a partner.

To maintain current enrollment coverage, the institution simply provides an updated CSV enrollment file on a quarterly, trimester, semester, or other mutually agreed academic schedule. The file should include newly enrolled students whom the institution wishes to add to the program.

​

Students who graduate, complete their program, or otherwise leave the institution retain their existing Musgrove Food Index subscription at no additional cost to the institution, provided the institution maintains its Educational Partnership License.

 

The institution is responsible only for the students it elects to add as current or newly enrolled students; it does not continue paying for students after they leave or graduate.

This plan provides the institution with a simple, predictable, enrollment-based approach to student access, while allowing students who have benefited from the Index during their education to continue using their subscription as they move into their professional culinary careers.
